the twilight sad

hello music mongers!

the twilight sad is a post rock quartet that hails from scotland. this is their debut album, "fourteen autumns & fifteen winters" released off fatcat records (múm, sigur ros) and engineered by paul savage (mogwai). so that can give you a little idea what to expect.

like good post rock, their music takes you somewhere. often times starting slow and quiet only to bring you into a raging sea of thick, lush guitars. sometimes to the point where its just a wall of white noise.

from what ive read online, from the booklet art, and from reading the lyrics, it seems their music is often about childhood/adolescence. thats why the lyrics are sometimes whimsical with strange imagery.

i guess what i love most about these guys is the sound they get. id love to see them live. theyd be blaring loud and epic. so much so that id have to block some of the awesomeness out so i dont damage my ears.

try some! best enjoyed with the volume UP!
the twilight sad - cold days from the birdhouse
the twilight sad - and she would darken the memory

**disclaimer**
the first time i heard them was in my roommates car and i didnt know he was speaking english. thats how heavy his scottish accent is. so if you need the lyrics written out then go here. although im not even sure those are correct
