utada - this is the one

another english release for her. while not nearly as bad as exodus, it still feels pretty poser-ish and there are a lot of copy cat sounds. probably because it came from the same grammy award winning producer pool as ne-yo, usher, mariah...etc. but utada DOES write her own material, enjoys composing, and has a hand in producing. but i dont think shell ever fit into that all natural dirty south 808 thumpin pop queen mold. because that aint her. shes a japanese international child that went to columbia. but i must say, i do like this one a lot more. beats are phatter, tunes are catchier, and lyrics are better too (if only a little).
