Ronald Jenkees

Thursday, June 12 by Dan Lo

Saying that Ronald Jenkees is one of the most interesting musicians I've ever stumbled upon would be quite an understatement. In a severely under-descriptive nutshell, he's a hip hop beat producer and keyboardist. Simply listening to his tracks is only half the story. They sound like the instrumental beats of a rap song you might possibly hear on the radio. You might even think (as I admittedly did when I first heard an mp3 of his before knowing anything about him) "no big deal, the beats are good but not THAT spectacular... I don't get it".

Then, all that went out the window when i watched a video:

What a riot huh? After that first one I couldn't stop watching his videos, some of them many times... just can't get enough. His overflowing genuine enthusiasm is incredible, and pretty inspiring to me as someone who has dabbled in music on and off throughout my life. He's also probably the only person on the planet who can get away with calling people "youtubes" and not be lynched for it.

... and here's a couple more favorites:

Peace out y'all!

how fun! thanks for posting! i like how much he seems to enjoy the music making process.

i like the 2nd and 3rd song - especially the part where it sounds like a clip from some nintendo game.
